![]() I know that there’s after market attachments for the cameo for engraving, but I haven’t found anything similar for debossing/embossing.įor the immediate future, my main needs from either a cricut or silhouette would be for DIY stuff for my upcoming wedding, but I’m really into crafting so I expect to use it for a while.Īnyone who has both the cameo and maker have any opinions on what each does best? I’ve read a few reviews/articles of the maker’s engraving/debossing on leather and those people didn’t have a super great outcome so that made me less interested in a cricut. Plus I’ve heard that Silhouette has announced they’re discontinuing the Curio. I know Curio can do that, but I’m not interested in paying for 2 machines when there’s 1 that does everything. The main draw I have to the cricut maker is that it also has the functionality of engraving and debossing/embossing. With the news I’ve seen over the last year from Cricut, even though they’ve gone back on their decision, I’m really wary of paying a whole bunch for a machine when they could just decide they care more for money than their users. What I like about the cameo is that you can use third party software and use your cameo offline. So I thought I’d get opinions from people who have both. I keep going back and forth on which would be better for me. I want to buy either a maker or cameo soon.
